Fear

Fear is a bad advisor we say in Holland. Meaning that you must not listen to fear. If that's true, well that is open for discussion. In some cases it might be a good idea to listen to fear. More about that later. We all know the emotion of fear. I don't care how big or tough you are, everybody knows that feeling of fear. It is a basic emotion like being mad or feeling joyful.

Question is, do you let fear lead your life? Does fear influence your daily routine, does it keep you away from chasing dreams and pursuing goals? In certain cases fear can be a good advisor. That's how it works in nature, like in animal life. Animals know fear too, it keeps them alive and they always listen to it. An extreme example for us humans, if there is a terrorist attack it might be wise to listen to your fears. Run if you can!

We also learn about certain fears at a young age so we can see danger. Like learning to navigate in traffic or being careful while climbing a ladder. But to let fear lead your life, well then it is a bad advisor indeed. Fear is overpowering you, taking control. Something you don't want of course! The question here is, is the fear real and how do you cope with that? There lies the key to a life without unfounded fear.

Cause fear is most of the times unfounded. I truly believe in that! It could be fear for a snake, spider or mouse. It might be fear of flying or big crowds. It can also be fear for change or making choices. Anyway, most of the times it are unfounded fears. I don't say they are not real, but they are unfounded.

During my travels I had to learn that fear is unfounded. Bears, wolves, snakes, hights, being alone in the dark forest. I know that fear is often unfounded cause nothing happens. That's it really! Nothing happens in 99% of the cases. And if it happens, well then you have time to worry about it. Then you have time to act. And then it's a good idea to listen to those feelings of fear.

If you are able to make rational choices based on your feelings in those situations you are a winner! If you can do that, you will see that fear is unfounded, it certainly isn't leading your life and standing in your way anymore. Except in that extreme situation, if you are robbed at gunpoint....well please do listen to your fear! It is a natural signal of our mind and body and let me be clear: You aren't weak if you listen to your fears!

But do know, you will suffer the most by the fear you are fearing!

Do you want to learn how to make a rational choice based on your feelings? Do you want to get rid off those unfounded fears?

I can help you!
