Goodmorning on this Sunday morning! Day 153 for me. Of course I will update normally again tonight, but first it's time for some news.

You all know my initial plan was to walk to Santiago de Compostela. Something to do with my dad, for me it was unfinished business so taking his ashes to Fisterra was quite important. He's already there, cause I took him there on my walk in 2017.

I started my journey in Istanbul by leaving his remains in the Bosporus. It was something I really needed to do. Then, I walked to Italy. What a magic adventure that was. During my walk I found answers, closure and peace of mind.

Walking through Turkey and the Balkan was quite a ride. Beautiful landscapes, great nature and awesome people. It was pure freedom! For me it was all I searched for on this journey. I wanted adventure, and I got some. Then I reached the Italian border.

My adventure was like a candle being blown out. I arrived in the Western world. Now, nothing personal, don't get offended, but it is not my cup of tea. It made me think about what is to come. A lot more if this, walking through Italy, France and Spain. I have been before, I walked to Santiago de Compostela five years ago and now I will do the same. Do I really want that? Or do I want something new? Some more unknown adventure. More of that pure freedom.

I thought about walking to Rome. But then again, it is organized and I immediately missed that feeling of freedom. I miss that feeling of roaming unknown lands.
So today I will turn around. I will follow my heart as I have done this whole trip, follow my instinct and be happy. I will turn around in search for those unknown lands. Lands where we as a family might live one day. It was also a tiny piece of my mission, the check-out places to live.

Today I will turn around and head into that freedom and adventure again. I will head to Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Then, then the story ends. Then I can close this book, and all the chapters in it.

The Balkan, I love you. The Balkan, here I come again!
